BEGINNER – Start time TBA. A beginner is a competitor who has not taken Irish dancing lessons from a registered teacher prior to September - 1st of previous year. Dancer must move into Advanced Beginner the following year. 2 steps, 2 at a time. Reel/Slip Jig tempo - 118

2010 General Information:
15. Preliminary Championships are open to those who, at any NAFC recognized Feis: a) Have won 1st place in both an open/prizewinner light and heavy shoe competition, and b) Have never won 1st, 2nd or 3rd in Open Championship. A dancer who wins three first place awards in one calendar year will move on to Open Championship the following year, or as soon as the third win is achieved, in any age category, in the following years. Only in the case of back-to-back Feiseanna (successive days), in which case the second win will not change the dancer’s status for the third Feis. A dancer is required to perform a light shoe dance (reel or slip jig for ladies and reel only for men), and a hard shoe dance. A Feis can opt to offer either a) a set dance or b) a jig/hornpipe.

Closing date for entries - 2/8/10. All Entries postmarked after this date must include a $10.00 Late fee per family.

No telephone entries, and no entries accepted on the day of the feis.

No entries accepted after 2/14/10 or whenever we reached 1000. Enter early! Every year we have reached the cap prior to the closing date and have had to reject entries.

Entry Cards are to be picked up the day of the Feis.

No Food or drink permitted in the auditorium or gym -venue rules. Violators will be asked to leave premises.

By submitting an entry form, parents or legal guardian agrees to abide by Feis rules.

The Feis Committee Reserves the right to cancel, combine or split any competition.
Entry Fees:
Solos/music - $8 per competition, marks included
Treble Reel - $8 (proceeds donated to charity)
Preliminary - $28, Open Champions - $33 per competitor
Championship change fee - $10
The maximum fee per family is $90 plus any applicable late or change fees. There will be no refund of any entry fees.

FROM NEW YORK: Take LIE (495) east to exit 44 south, Route 135 Seaford. Take Route 135 to Southern State Pkwy East.
Southern State Pkwy East to Exit 32S, Route 110 Amityville. Take Route 110 south (approx. 2mi.) to the first light after you go under the railroad trestle, Oak St., make a right. Go straight for three traffic lights make a left onto Carman Mill Road; there is a Budget Inn on the corner. Parking is available on both sides of the school.
FROM EASTERN LONG ISLAND: Take Southern State Pkwy to exit 32S, Route 110, Amityville, and then follow directions above.
